INFORMATION REGARDING MINISTERIAL CREDENTIALS DOCUMENTATION
Ministerial Credentials are the highest ministerial documentation offered by the Church of God (Seventh Day). The high calling to serve the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the church is reflective of what God is doing in your life and in your ministry.
Ministerial Credentials reveal a relationship of complete trust in you and in the spiritual gifts and abilities God has blessed you with. If the License and Credentials Committee approves your document, we urge you, by the grace of God given you, that you seek to offer the best Christian service and leadership you are capable of giving to Christ and His Church. Ministerial Credentials not only elevate you to the highest level of ministry, it provides you opportunity to consider service in any level of leadership in both the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day), and its North American Ministerial Council.
QUALIFICATIONS: To apply, you must:
- Currently hold a Ministerial License with the North American Ministerial Council for at least four years.
- Complete the Bachelor of Christian Leadership (Pastoral Major) from Artios Christian College (LifeSpring School of Ministry, or its equivalent (comparable Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field [e.g., Theology, Bible, Ministry] with transcripts approved by Artios Christian College), no later than February 15.
- Official transcripts for education earned outside of Artios Christian College/LifeSpring School of Ministry must be sent to the License & Credentials Committee, at the address above, no later than December 1.
- Agree to the pre-application agreement.
- Possess and demonstrate the spiritual and practical qualities of an elder listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
- Be committed to devotions and prayer daily.
- Be committed to uphold the doctrinal positions and practices of the Church of God (Seventh Day).
DATES: The committee will review applications at their annual meeting in the end of February. Applicants must comply to the following dates in order for their application to be reviewed by the committee:
- Application must be requested of the Custodian of Records (lcc.custodian@cog7.org) no later than November 1.
- Qualifications items 1-4 must be met no later than December 1 in order to receive an application.
- Applications must be completed and sent to the Custodian of Records (at the General Conference) no later than December 15.
- References and letters of recommendations must be sent to the Custodian of Records no later than January 15.
- Applicants should be prepared for an interview during the February meeting. The committee will initiate setting this up.
RENEWAL: Ministerial credentials expire every five years. The renewal of your credentials depends upon your completing 75 hours of continuing education as prescribed by the License and Credentials Committee. Attendance at NAMC meetings is required in accordance with the Church Manual/Ministerial Documentation Manual under “Ministerial Inactivity.”
